When Muhammad was 35, five years before the prophet hood, there was a great flood in Makkah. That swept towards Al-Ka’bah and almost demolished it. Quraish was obliged to rebuild it to safeguard its holiness & position .When they rebuild Al-Ka’bah they couldn’t agree to whom to put the sacred black stone called as ‘Hajrul Aswad’ in its proper place. Finally, they decided to content to abide by Muhammad’s decision. Then Muhammad laid it in the proper position with his ovine hands.
